Post Malone and Jelly Roll to Visit Waco

Award-winning artists Jelly Roll and Post Malone are hitting the road once again for their highly anticipated “Big Stadium Tour Part 2,” with a stop scheduled at McLane Stadium in Waco on May 19. The duo previously toured together in 2025, delivering high-energy performances and genre-blending sound, and this new leg of the tour promises to bring that same excitement to fans. In addition to Waco, the tour will make stops at several iconic college football stadiums across the United States. Country music artist Carter Faith will join the tour as a special guest on all headlining dates.

Jelly Roll and Post Malone join a growing list of major musical acts who have recently performed in Waco, further solidifying the city as a destination for large-scale live entertainment. Fans can take advantage of exclusive presale opportunities, including special access for Baylor Bear Foundation members, as well as for Baylor students, faculty, and staff.

Real Law for Real Life

Baylor Law School’s annual community outreach event, People’s Law School, will take place on Saturday, February 14. This event is designed to serve residents of Central Texas by offering a series of informative, one-hour courses focused on practical legal topics that commonly arise in everyday life. Course offerings will include sessions such as “A Survival Guide to Divorce and Child Custody” and “Your Roadmap After a Car Wreck,” among others. Each course will be taught by experienced attorneys, legal professionals, or members of the Baylor Law School faculty.

The goal of People’s Law School is to empower members of the Waco community with a better understanding of their legal rights and responsibilities, helping them navigate legal challenges they may encounter in their day-to-day lives. The event is completely free and open to the public and will be held at Baylor Law School from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Baylor Alumna on the Fortune 100 List

Baylor’s 2022 Alumna of the Year, Thasunda Brown Duckett, M.B.A., was recently ranked No. 31 on Fortune’s 100 Most Powerful People in Business List. Her achievement joins an already impressive list of accolades as she is currently the president and CEO of TIAA, making her the company’s first female CEO and the third Black woman ever to lead a Fortune 500 company.

Duckett has held numerous leadership roles, won countless awards, and, through it all, has maintained both humility and gratitude. “You can’t help but be grateful that you have an opportunity to write new stories, to show what’s possible for other young girls or people who just don’t see themselves in power positions based on their background,” Duckett said in a 2022 Baylor Magazine Feature

Record Year for Fulbright Scholars

Baylor University set a new record during the 2025–26 academic year as 24 students and recent alumni earned the prestigious Fulbright Award to study, conduct research, and teach English abroad. This achievement not only marks a new milestone for Baylor but also reinforces the University’s standing as the No. 1 Fulbright producer among Texas colleges and universities, as well as among Big 12 institutions. On February 3, the Fulbright Program recognized Baylor as one of the nation’s top 10 producers of Fulbright scholars, marking the fourth consecutive year the university has received this distinction.

Baylor’s continued success is supported by a comprehensive program designed to guide students through the Fulbright application process. Applicants receive support from four dedicated Fulbright Program advisers, along with mentorship from more than 150 faculty members who assist with interviews, recommendations, and academic guidance.

“Earning recognition as a Fulbright Top Producing Institution for the fourth consecutive year speaks to something far larger than a ranking,” said Andrew P. Hogue, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Engaged Learning, in a Baylor press release. “It reflects the strength of a Baylor education—one that equips students with the curiosity, character, and global perspectives needed to lead and serve in places far beyond our campus.”

Baylor to Host Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer

Women from Waco and surrounding communities are invited to gather at Truett Seminary this Saturday, February 7, for a morning of connection, reflection, and prayer as they celebrate the 2026 Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer. The day begins with a light, complimentary brunch at 9:30 a.m., offering space to meet, greet, and share conversation, followed by a program and guided prayer at 10:00 a.m.

Hosted by WMU/Women’s Ministries of the Waco Regional Baptist Association, First Baptist Church Waco WMU Women, Truett Theological Seminary, and Baylor University’s Keston Center for Religion, Politics, and Society, the gathering brings together voices from across the Baptist community. The morning will feature keynote reflections from Merrit Johnston, president of the Baptist Women of North America, and a Bible study from Mia Moody, Ph.D., professor of journalism, public relations, and new media at Baylor University.

Happy 181st Birthday, Baylor!

Baylor University celebrated its 181st anniversary on Sunday, February 1st, marking more than a century and a half of academic excellence and tradition. Chartered in 1845 in Independence, Texas, the University later relocated to Waco in 1886, where it has continued to grow and thrive. Today, Baylor is the oldest continuously operating university in Texas. In recognition of this milestone and the institution’s enduring legacy, Baylor extended its undergraduate admissions deadline to February 15th, offering more prospective students the opportunity to become part of the University’s long and rich history.
