Tales of Waco: A Bus Tour with Bob Darden

Explore Waco through the lens of the famous Bob Darden, with his stories from The Baylor Line, Wacoan, and more.

Welcome to ‘Episode 20’ of The Baylor Line’s flagship podcast.

For the first time in The Baylor Line’s history, host Jonathon Platt takes you on the ride of your life around Waco – accompanied by stories gleaned from the forty-year-long byline of Robert F. Darden.

Along the way, Darden shares the tales from decades of rich history – from the scars left by the 1953 tornado, mischievous actions of Baylor’s secret Noze Brotherhood, the vanishing of Sandtown, and more.

This isn’t your standard history tour. It’s a ride through Waco’s contradictions – joy and loss, progress and struggle, and meaning – told with Darden’s trademarked humor of course.

Buckle in, picture the streets passing by, and join us for a trip, captured through the lens of Darden’s words.

We’ll have more new episodes of The Green Room for you every week – stay tuned for the incredible list of guests we’ve already lined up, namely:

  • 1953 Tequila Panel
  • Devon Li & Jaja Chen, Owners of Cha Community
  • Jackie Baugh Moore, Eula Mae & John Baugh Foundation President
  • And so, so many more.

Oh, and to make sure you get each episode, make sure to subscribe to The Latest, The Weekly, or The Monthly newsletter from The Baylor Line. You can also follow our feed wherever you listen to podcasts — such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
