Scaffolding collapse at Baylor welcome center construction site injures two

Two construction workers were taken to a local hospital after falling 35 feet Wednesday morning in a scaffolding collapse at the construction site for Baylor University’s Mark and Paula Hurd Welcome Center near Interstate 35 and University Parks Drive, according to the Waco Fire Department. Baylor community shows continued support for the country of Ukraine this week

On Monday, Baylor students, faculty and staff gathered on campus to pray for the people of Ukraine — one of many ways members of the Baylor campus community have joined the international community’s reaction to the horrific events playing out in Eastern Europe right now.

Baylor, Kansas tied for Big 12 lead heading into final weekend

The two teams will head into the final game of the regular season tied for the Big 12 men’s basketball lead following the Jayhawks’ 72-68 win over TCU. The Bears host Iowa State at 5 p.m. Saturday. Both Baylor and Kansas are 13-4 in Big 12 play. (Possible paywall)

TIF contribution for Baylor basketball arena down

Tax-funded contribution through the Tax Increment Financing program to a new Baylor basketball arena is set to be about $34 million instead of the $65 million initially proposed, but the city of Waco will not be able to schedule as many events in the new venue. (Possible paywall)
