HOF Winners 2019: Levi Price

George W. Truett Distinguished Service Award

Levi Price graduated from Baylor University in 1964. While at Baylor, he was a football varsity letterman. He graduated from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in 1972 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1976.

Price married the former Luethyl (Lu) Dawkins in 1962. The Prices have two married children,Timothy and Sara, and have six granddaughters and a grandson. One granddaughter is already a graduate of Baylor.

Since leaving the full-time pastoral ministry in 2002 to teach at Truett Seminary, Price has served in 19 pastoral interims (one for 23 months and twice in one church). He received the Maples, Williamson, Daehnert Intentional Interim Award in 2018. He has served on the National Review Team and the Texas Review Team for Intentional Interim Pastors.

He also has served as a Baylor Regent and as a member and chair of the Advisory Board of Truett Seminary.

For two years, Lu and Levi ran the light and sound for Baylor Religious Hour. It was a really great experience. They met a lot of great folks and learned a lot about the speakers and the choir during that time. Lu and Levi were hometown sweethearts and married after their second year at Baylor.
