Faith, Family and Food: An Interview with Omari and Abby Head

Omari and Abby Head share their journey in building a career rooted in faith, food, and a whole lot of love.

Why did Jonathon Platt bring a donut to the interview? Because he knew this conversation would be jam-packed!

Welcome to ‘Episode 16’ of The Baylor Line’s flagship podcast, The Green Room.

Host Jonathon Platt sits down with Omari and Abby Head, the couple behind some of Waco’s most beloved spots – Pop’s Lemonade, Cheddar Box and Well-Rounded Donuts.

Known for their hospitality and deep-rooted faith, Omari and Abby let us in on their story of how a business and a life together were built from scratch – with the help of a misread flirtation of course.

Before their culinary journey, the couple had other occupations – Abby, a speech therapist and Omari, a college pastor. With a long held dream of owning a business and having a knack for hospitality, the two saw an opportunity for change their life paths.

Their story is full of warmth, wisdom, and reminders that success isn’t always measured by stability, but by the people you share your journey with.

Take a leap of faith and tune in.

We’ll have more new episodes of The Green Room for you very soon!
