Have a special Baylor memory? Here’s how to share it.
Every week, we hear from alumni across the Baylor Family with unique, special stories and memories. Many are incredibly inspiring and we share them around the office. I’ve one that is near and dear to my heart from 2021: A generous soul wrote in that receiving each issue of The Baylor Line is like taking a warm blanket from the oven — one can’t help but curl up on the couch with it.
That still tugs at my heart strings all these years later.
Your stories deserve to be told. Your memories deserve to be preserved. So, we’d like to introduce our newest column, the Alumni Diary.
The Alumni Diary is where Bears across the generations (and globe!) — plus, the friends and family who might not have attended Baylor, but who now call it home — share their favorite stories that preserve and illuminate the Baylor spirit and soul.
We cannot wait to read your submissions. Review those we’ve already published here.
Your story
Submissions for Alumni Diary should be connected to a specific Baylor memory and between 300–400 words.
While we prefer to publish stories (that is, in fact, our business), we will — from time-to-time and as we determine — publish poetry, jokes, or photo essays.
Guidelines
We require that you be able to verify you are the actual author, that the story is true (while we love a good tall tale, let’s save those for later), and that anyone you mention is okay with their words or actions being published.
We will not be able to publish every submission.
Additional terms and requirements are listed here.
Other ways to submit
We also accept submissions by email, at hi@baylorline.com, and by postal mail, at The Baylor Line, PO Box 2089, Waco, Texas 76703.
Please include your name, email address, and a telephone number for verification. Your contact information will not be shared.
Submissions become the property of The Baylor Line and cannot be returned — even if we choose not to publish the material — so, please, don’t send irreplaceable items. Again, please review the submission guidelines before sending in any materials.
Additionally, if we find your story particularly compelling, we may reach out to expand the submission or even record it for a future podcast episode. These will be determined by our editors on a case-by-case basis.
