Breaking: Baylor Senior Savion Wright makes Idol Final 24

UPDATE:  Here’s a link to Savion’s Top 24 performance (with judge comments) on Feb. 25 — singing “Hey Soul Sister” by Train.

Baylor Senior Savion Wright survived an American Idol first — a “Showcase” performance in front of a live audience at House of Blues — to make it into the next round of the popular singing competition.

Savion, who was eliminated during Hollywood Week last year, sang “It’s a New Dawn” by Michael Buble.  His reaction to being told by the judges he made the final 24 is priceless and is being widely shared on the Internet.  You can find it on his @SavionJWright Twitter feed with the simple note: “Best. Reaction. Ever.”

Or you can click here to see American Idol’s “Final Judgment” package with parts of Savion’s performance, interviews, feedbacks, and his reaction.

We’ll update this post with video and other information.
