Football Traffic

Ahh… the most fun and frustrating part of the fall… football!  Baylor football season means tradition, tailgates, and a whole bunch of traffic. Today, the season kicks off at 7 p.m. against Auburn. A Friday night game comes with a few complications, namely traffic. This impacts current students as well as classes will still be in session with multiple lots and parking garages are closed for game day parking. That being said, when coming to the game remember to be respectful of current students trying to exit campus – there will also be congestion due to ongoing IH-35 construction and game traffic.

The Goal-den Girls

Baylor Soccer is on the rise. The Bears 2-0 win over the University of Montana not only snapped the Grizzlies’ 18-match home winning streak but also showed early signs of a Bears team ready to build on last year’s momentum. After an 8-8-5 season and advancing to the Big 12 semifinals, the Bears proved they can compete with the league’s best. Anchored by veteran keeper Azul Alvarez, recently named Big 12 goalkeeper of the week, the team is poised to persevere and push through this season.

A Space for Mama Bears

Baylor has introduced Baby Bear Lounges at Mclane Stadium and Foster Pavilion – they are private, air-conditioned spaces designed for parents with young children. The partnership with Taking Cara Babies has allowed Baylor to create a safe space for parents who attend games with their children.

From an Instagram post from Taking Cara Babies stated, “I wanted parents to know they had a comfortable, climate-controlled space to pump, feed, change, or snuggle their babies at the stadium (while still watching the game).”

Baylor Scholarship Initiative Success

Baylor raised over $192 million in FY 2025, marking the second-largest fundraising year in school history. More than 26,000 alumni, parents and friends gave generously in support of multiple realms of the university. With these donations, Baylor is able to fund their “Extend the Line” scholarship initiative which aims to raise $250 million by 2030.

In an article from Baylor, Jason Diffenderfer, vice president of University Advancement said, “With the launch of this initiative, we asked our Baylor Family to give as they could to support Baylor students through scholarships, and the response to this call has been inspiring. Through the Extend the Line initiative, our Baylor Family truly is fueling dreams and funding futures.”
